Visas to Syria

According to the Applicable laws in Syria, every Arab or foreigner wishing to visit Syrian territory in order to study, work, invest, etc. must obtain a visa from one of the Syrian Embassies or consulates before visiting Syria. Documents required to obtain a visa to enter Syria:

1: Original passport, valid for 6 months at least.
2: Recent colored personal photos with a white background.
3: The Visa fees will be determined by the Embassy based on the nationality of the applicant and the number of required visa application entries.
4: Fill and print the VISA APPLICATION form.

Procedures for granting a visa:

1: For your convenience and to facilitate and expedite the procedures, it is advised to download the electronic form available on the website of the Embassy at the following link and then print the form to be presented to the Syrian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur with the rest of the required documents.
2: The clarity and accuracy of the information provided by you will expedite the approval of your application. Lack of or unclear information may cause your request to be denied.
3: Attaching any additional documents (CV, invitation letter, any supporting information or documents, etc.) will expedite the approval of your application.
4: Your application will be examined carefully, and it will take 10 to 60 working days to process your request. You can contact the Embassy exclusively to inquire about the status of your application.
5: Upon completion of the procedures, you will be contacted by the Embassy to inform you of the issuance of the visa.

Important Notes:

1: Make sure you have submitted your visa application well in advance of your visit to Syria.
It is not possible, for any reason, to expedite the processing, or to allow you to enter through Syrian airports or border ports before you obtain the attribute.
2: The application for the entry visa shall be submitted directly by the Embassy
The Embassy has no agents, brokers or delegates anywhere. The application cannot be submitted through tourist offices, companies or any other broker other than the Embassy.
3: Attempting to enter illegally into Syrian territory will expose you to accountability in accordance with the provisions of Syrian and international law.
4: Exceeding the length of stay specified on the attribute will expose you to violation and fines in accordance with the laws and regulations in force.
5: The Embassy cannot grant you official permission to reside or work in the Syrian Arab Republic.
6: The granting of the visa by the Embassy does not necessarily mean that the competent authorities at the border ports will allow you to enter.
In rare cases, the officer in charge at the airport / border crossing may refuse to allow you to enter, and the Embassy has no responsibility to do so.
7: Currently, Malaysian nationals do not need to obtain a visa to visit Syrian territory.
8: The Embassy does not require that the applicant be a resident of Malaysia, you can apply regardless of your permanent residence.

Special provisions for specific cases:

1: Any Syrian citizen who wishes, for some reason, to enter Syrian territory using his foreign passport, can obtain an entry visa on his non-Syrian passport directly through Syrian airports and border ports without having to submit any application or possess any other approval, provided that proof is shown That he still holds Syrian nationality (Syrian passport - personal identity - driving certificate .. etc)
2: At present, the husband / wife of a Syrian citizen and his children - non-Syrians - need to obtain a prior entry visa.
3: A relative, friend, business partner or any other party may apply at any of the branches of the Immigration and Passports Department in the Syrian governorates to grant you a visa to enter Syria. The application will be treated in the same manner as mentioned above.
